About Jeanie

Style Me! is a new venture grown from a lifelong love of fashion. It started with a passion for making “custom” clothing for my paper dolls and later designing the costumes for theatrical productions in my high school. I attended Traphagen School of Fashion, a professional school in New York City and just before graduation, I was one of 10 student designers who won a national design competition sponsored by Vogue-Butterick and Glamour Magazine called “Young America Creates”. I was named one of top ten young designers in the US by Women’s Wear Daily. I worked for several years as a fashion designer in Boston and New York, designing for several women’s sportswear companies.

In the mid-seventies I moved to Halifax, Nova Scotia where I raised my family while continuing to help family and friends with their wardrobe choices. In 1990, I joined the Nova Scotia International Tattoo as Head of Wardrobe. I got my first Film job that year and  joined Nova Scotia ‘s fledgling film community, where I’ve have spent the last 24 years designing costumes for Canadian and American Film and Television productions. In 1998, I was nominated for a Gemini Award for Best Costume Design for the film Pit Pony.

I decided to take all my experience and start Style Me! Wardrobe Consulting, Halifax’s only full service wardrobe stylist for everyone who feels that their wardrobe could use some help but doesn’t know how to tackle this challenge alone. After dressing literally thousands of people, I believe there isn’t a body that can’t be dressed in a way that will give that person confidence and self-assurance. And after four years working with Style Me!’s clients, this belief hasn’t changed at all!
